Marketing your website.

OK you have had your website designed, built and launched onto the internet, so whats next?

Well you need to get your new websites name out there to attract visitors and potential customers because if people don’t know about your website, put simply they can’t visit it!

10 ways you can promote your website both online and offline.

  1. Submit your website to the search engines. If we built your website we will of already taken care of this step for you as well as optimising your website to make sure the search engines list your website properly.

  2. Make sure to update all of your corporate literature (business cards, letterheads, invoices, newsletters, etc.) to include your new website address (eg. www.yoursite.co.uk) and email address (eg. yourname@yoursite.co.uk) to inform and entice people to come and visit your website.

  3. Include your websites address on all traditional marketing materials (adverts, mailers, flyers, leaflets, brochures, etc.) to make sure that your prospective customers can find your website easily.

  4. Place your websites address in the signature of all of your own and your staffs emails (see your email programs help file for instructions on how to do this). Also if you post to any news groups, discussion groups or forums online remember to mention or include your websites address in your signature.

  5. Announce the launch of your site by sending out mailers to your existing clients informing them of your new website and its features, you can do this both offline using traditional (snail mail) mailers and online via email. You could also use a specialist email marketing service to send out regular marketing messages to your client list prompting them to visit your website.

  6. Pay-per-click advertising / marketing.

  7. Add your website address to your companies main voicemail message.

  8. When talking to the press, remember to always mention your website.

  9. Ask any business partners to include a link to your website from theirs.

  10. If you write an article for inclusion in a publication make sure to request that your websites address appears along with your name/bio in the article.

These are just a few ways that you can get your websites name out there to encourage people to visit your new site and hopefully take advantage of your products and services.
